During Kwanzaa, people are invited to ponder the Nguzo Saba, seven powerful principles derived from African heritage, as a means of taking stock, celebrating achievements, and entering the future refreshed and renewed. Winners qualify for subsequent competitions leading to a National Championship. National Champions' names are enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Proof of age is required and age is determined as of April 1, 2019. Pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. on December 6.
