9 Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Performing Arts Discover your inner performer with classes in theater, music, and dance. Applause! Cary Youth Theatre Explore creative drama, acting, performance, musical theater, technical theater, design, dance, and more in a supportive place where we communicate, take chances, solve problems, share ideas, and respect different points of view. Come imagine, create, and collaborate. "Be Somebody!" Applause! programs are held at Cary Arts Center unless otherwise noted. Drop-in Drama (age 11–17) Sample some of the theater games, exercises, and activities taught in Applause! classes and ask questions about the program. Perform with your team on the last day of class! Location: The Cary Theater Instructor: Renee Wimberley Fees: $129(R) $159(N) (8 classes) 116531 Sat Sep 22–Nov 10 10 a.m.-noon Drama Workshop Series: Padawan Workshop (age 13–18) Use the force and apply skills in stage combat, stagecrafts, and sewing. Participants will design and sew a Jedi costume, build a lightsaber, and learn combat choreography for Star Wars–inspired fight scenes. AUDITIONS (age 13–18) Wednesday, September 5, 5–9 p.m. This production is a musical: Participants will be asked to read from the script and learn/perform music and choreography.
