Practice opposite field hitting and hitting for power through instructional drills and batting cage practice. Practice drills to improve athleticism, footwork, and fielding positions. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 121497 Sun Feb 10 4:30–6 p.m. Town of Cary Baseball Spring Training Clinic (age 8–12) The 17th Annual Town of Cary Spring Clinic is for ages 8–12 and will focus on the fundamentals of the game. Rotate through a series of hitting, throwing and defensive drills with Town of Cary instructors. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Registration ends March 14. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Instructors Fees: $15 (1 class) 121493 Sun Mar 17 3–5 p.m. Town of Cary Baseball Championship Clinic (ages 8–14) Learn baseball from some of the nation's best college players and coaches! Registration includes a ticket to a NCAA Division II Championship game on Saturday, June 8 and a Rawlings glove. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors and NCAA DII Players and Coaches Fees: $20 (1 class) 121495 Sat Jun 1 10 a.m.-noon NTC Baseball Academy Pitching (age 11–17) Increase your knowledge of pitching on a competitive level. Learn and review wind up and stretch mechanics, pick off moves, and defensive responsibilities. This clinic is targeted for participants who want to become effective pitchers on a competitive stage. Proper arm care will be discussed, and tips will be given on ways to increase chances of making school team. We rely on volunteer coaches for our youth sports leagues. Coaches must be available for weekly practices and games, be certified by the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) and submit and pass a background check.
