Ann Roth: Departures Cary Arts Center Gallery Friday, March 29–Sunday, May 26 Artist Reception: Friday, March 29 | 68 p.m. Media: Fibers, Tyvek and Acrylic Paint Roth shows weavings from 2012-2017 with new work that playfully diverges from the straight lines and 90º angles produced by using a hand loom. These painted, collaged and woven works, along with digital drawings were done originally as studies for her weavings. Luis Enrique Torres: The language of Happiness Cary Arts Center Principal's Hall Friday, March 29–Sunday, May 26 Artist Reception: Friday, March 29 | 6–8 p.m. Media: Mixed on Paper This series explores the mental descriptions and physical experience of the feeling of joy. Explore a collection of visual fleeting moments captured in gestures and marks charged with the energy of the pursuit for an answer to the question, "what language do you use to describe your meaning of happiness?" Wake County Senior Games SilverArts Cary Senior Center Monday, March 25–Thursday, April 18 Reception & Awards Ceremony: Thursday, April 18 | 10:30 a.m. Media: Mixed The Cary Senior Center is pleased to host the 2019 Wake County Senior Games SilverArts Competition. Over 50 local artists ages 55 and up will be represented and compete for awards. Registration for this show will end in February.
