The artist's hope is to do pieces with a meditative quality, perhaps evoking places she has seen or just states of mind. Ray Parisi: Miniature Stained-Glass Jewelry Page-Walker Arts & History Center Wednesday, May 22- Saturday, June 29 Artist Reception: Friday, May 31 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Enamel The artist states "My jewelry consists of transparent vitreous enamel glass fused onto fine silver wires. Plique- a-Jour is the formal name; roughly translated it means light of day. The shapes of the silver wires and the vibrant colors remind one of stained-glass windows." Ibrahim Said: The Ways Cary Arts Center Gallery Friday, May 31–Saturday, July 21 Artist Reception: Friday, May 31 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Clay The artist interests lie in expanding on forms and principles rooted in his culture: namely ancient Egyptian pottery and Islamic arts.
