OUTDOOR RECREATION PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 91 Outdoor Skills Knots & Ropes (age 8 & up) Learn how care for rope and tie a variety of knots that can be used in climbing and camping settings. It is recommended youth have an adult to assist them as needed. Great for scouts and individuals new to tying knots. Location: Cary Senior Center, Rm 303 Instructor: Program Staff Fees: $35(R) $49(N) (3 classes) 120480 Mon Jan 7–28 7–8 p.m. (No class on Jan 21) Family Wilderness Survival (age 8 & up) Together, learn the basics of what you need to know to survive in the great outdoors. In this hands-on class, you will learn a range of basic survival skills including shelter building and fire making. Fees are for parent and child. All equipment provided. Location: Fred G. There is no charge to fish from shore. All NC fishing regulations apply. North Carolina requires anyone 16 or older to have a fishing license. Introduction to Fly Fishing (age 13 & up) Learn the basics of fly fishing including casting, knots, equipment, fishing strategies, fly selection, and proper fly- casting technique.
