10 Winter/Spring 2019 Cary Senior Center Arts & Crafts c Arts & Crafts Macramé for Today's Woman NEW You might have done some macramé many years ago or you might not have. But come and join us for a fun class with all the supplies provided for you as you learn several different knotting techniques and be shown how to get started on a wall hanging. You will design and create your own macramé wall hanging with guidance and support and will end up with your own unique piece of art. Bring scissors. Location: Classroom 303 Fees: $22(R) $29(N) (per class) 120322 Thu Jan 17 1:30–3:30 p.m. 120323 Thu Mar 7 1:30–3:30 p.m. Basket Making NEW You will complete a basket made from natural and dyed basket reed. Basket could include a wood base, a wooden handle or leather handles. Many basket weaving techniques will be taught. Basket kits will be purchased from the instructor with everything you will need to complete your basket. Depending on the complexity the price will range $25-$40. Location: Classroom 306 Fees: $14(R) $18(N) (1 class) 120328 Sat Mar 9 9:15 a.m.–2:15 p.m. Scrapbooking Our Lives: Creat- ing Heritage Scrapbooking FREE Scrapbooks allow us to preserve and pass along those memories and stories to the next generations. What can we say about our lives that will provide insight into who we are? In this course you'll create a scrapbook album you and your family will treasure. This is your chance to pull all those pictures off your camera and phone and out of your boxes and drawers. Learn how to design powerful scrapbook pages that include pictures, memorabilia, and journaling. Learn how to embellish with pop- ups, hidden journals, rubber stamps, and die cuts. No experience required but if you have scrapbooks you started in the past, bring them to class and get help completing them. You must be present for the first day of class in order to take the series.
