Binoculars can be provided. 119077 Tue Feb 19 10–11:30 a.m. SIGNS OF SPRING Early wildflowers and other signs of spring will be our focus today at the nature preserve. 119079 Wed Feb 27 10–11:30 a.m. SPRINGTIME AT THE BLUFFS We will search for more wildflowers and other early spring nature activity! 119078 Mon Mar 4 10–11:30 a.m. SWIFT CREEK SPRING RAMBLE Join us for an off-the grid exploration of the Swift Creek floodplain during the peak of early spring flowers. 119069 Tue Mar 19 10–11:30 a.m. UMSTEAD PARK EXPLORATION Explore parts of Umstead State Park as springtime arrives! Meet on the I-40 side parking lot. 119070 Tue Mar 26 10–11:30 a.m. NEW HOPE CHURCH ROAD TRAILHEAD This leisurely stroll will be along parts of the American Tobacco Trail in Chatham County. Meet at the New Hope Church Rd. Trailhead parking lot. 119080 Mon Apr 15 10–11:30 a.m. Adult Nature Day Trip (age 18 & up) COASTAL ECOLOGY This trip includes visits to Goose Creek State Park and Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge. We will be meeting at the state park to start our tour and proceed on later to the wildlife refuge. Fees: $30(R) $36(N) (1 class) 119109 Sat Jan 26 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. SANDHILLS ECOLOGY We will meet at Weymouth Woods State Nature Preserve near Southern Pines for a tour of the amazing longleaf ecosystem. Fees: $15(R) $19(N) (1 class) 119110 Sat Mar 30 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS FIELD TRIP We will tour parts of the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and search for spring flowers, birds and more! We will be meeting at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Fees: $30(R) $36(N) (1 class) 119111 Sun May 19 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Silver Naturalists (age 55 & up) Experience nature in a peaceful setting designed for easy wildlife viewing. You'll have an opportunity to ask questions about common plants and animals during indoor presentations or leisurely nature walks. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs, unless noted otherwise Fees: $5(R) $7(N) (per class) BIRDING 101 We'll search for winter birds by sight and sound.
