PART TWO HALF DAY CAMPS 40 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Nature Education Nature Nymphs (age 4–5) Nurture your child's curiosity about nature and they will develop an appreciation for the environment that lasts a lifetime! Your preschooler will be excited about learning as they develop new skills through hikes in the woods, crafts, and indoor activities. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $68(R) $88(N) (4 classes) WILDLIFE TALES Go on an adventure to learn the truth behind nature tales while learning about the forest and the animals that live there. 123631 Mon–Thu Jun 24–27 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. T1 GROWING UP WILD From the creeks to the trees, animal homes are everywhere! We'll investigate the animals that call Hemlock Bluffs home. 123630 Mon–Thu Jul 22–25 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. T4 THE SECRET FOREST Nature is full of surprises. Uncover the secretive world that is hiding in plain sight at Hemlock Bluffs. 123632 Mon–Thu Aug 12–15 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. T3 Nature Education and Outdoor Recreation classes may involve traveling over rough or uneven terrain. To help prevent injuries, closed-toe footwear is required. Rubber boots, hiking shoes, or sneakers are recommended; do not wear flip-flops, Crocs, sandals, or other open-toe shoes. Bare feet are absolutely prohibited! PROTECT YOUR FEET! Discovery Days (age 5–12) Sometimes we just want to hike farther, delve deeper, or create a bigger, better project. These camps give children the chance to get to know each other, their instructor, and nature preserve plants and animals a little better. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs, unless noted otherwise Fees: $54(R) $68(N) (3 classes) AGE 5–7 SCALES, SCAT, & STICKY SLIME Prepare to get dirty as we search the creeks and preserve for signs of wildlife. 123644 Mon–Wed Jul 1–3 10 a.m.–1 p.m. TO CREATURES OF THE DEEP Venture into the streams of the preserve in search of fish, frogs, crayfish, and more! 123645 Mon–Wed Aug 19–21 10 a.m.–1 p.m. T2 AGE 8–12 EAT. PREY. LOVE. Take a journey through the life cycle of the forest by exploring the creeks and bluffs of the preserve. 123643 Tue–Thu Jun 18–20 9 a.m.–noon T1 GOING OFF GRID AT BOND PARK Discover the hidden side of Bond Park in search of unique plants and animals. Meets at Bond Park Boathouse. 123646 Tue–Thu Jul 16–18 9 a.m.–noon T4 DISCOVERING DINOS & DRAGONS Join us as we look for modern day dinosaurs and dragons. We will search for fossils, lizards, snakes and more! 123647 Mon–Wed Aug 5–7 9 a.m.–noon T3 WEATHER POLICY Outdoor recreation camps take place outside, rain or shine. However, a camp may be canceled due to poor or dangerous weather. In these cases, camps will be canceled by 8:30 a.m. the day of the camp. You will receive a refund for that day's camp.
