People often mistake their paintings for photographs. Their representational paintings depict reections in store-front windows, automobiles, water and visual treasures that challenge viewers to continually nd new discoveries in their work. Gina Harrison: Floral Suite— Songs without Words Page-Walker Arts & History Center Wednesday, July 3–Saturday, August 17 Artist Reception: Friday, July 26 | 6–8 p.m. Media: Mixed Media/Digital Prints Like visual music, owers occupy many of the same spaces in a life—from romance to remembrance, from contemplation to celebration to sorrow. This set of recent digital works includes contemporary still life works as well as oral and foliage abstracts. Lyric Montgomery Kinard & Maura High: Stone & Water Cary Arts Center Gallery Friday, July 26–Sunday, September 22 Artist Reception: Friday, July 26 | 6–8 p.m. Media: Textiles & Poetry The exhibition explores interactions through time. The abstract work in textiles is created by Lyric Montgomery Kinard and the poetry by Maura High. Humans shape stone and channel water, water shapes stone, and we all are shaped by time. Darrell Stover: JazzyNiteDaze Cary Arts Center Principal's Hall Friday, July 26–Sunday, September 22 Artist Reception: Friday, July 26 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Documentary Photographs The artist captures 48 hours in the jazz performance world of the Triangle. It specically focuses on jazz trumpeter Al Strong as he leads the jazz jam session on a Thursday night in August and, then, leads many of the same instrumentalists on a Saturday afternoon at Cary's Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival.
