10 Summer 2019 Cary Senior Center PAINTING Painting with Marcelle Location: Classroom 306 Instructor: Marcelle Hooks PAINTING LANDSCAPES WITH LIGHT AND DEPTH This class is ideal for oil and acrylic painters at any level who want to brush up on color mixing, techniques for adding depth and light to paintings, and in general to make your paintings better. Instructor will be working with each student at his/her level. Fees: $40(R) $52(N) (4 classes) 125464 Tue Jun 4–Jun 25 9:30 a.m.-noon 125461 Wed Jun 5–Jul 3 1–3:30 p.m. (no class 6/12) PAINTING BIRDS AND BLOOMS FOR SUMMER You will learn to paint feathers, and flowers in a realistic style. Also included will be backgrounds. You will be drawing, color mixing, choosing color schemes, and learning the use of value and intensity to make subjects recede and advance and add volume. Much individual instruction along with demonstrations in this class. You must have supplies in order to take this class. You may decide to make changes if the painting is salvageable or start over if the idea is sound for a good painting. In this class, students will learn how to work with colored pencils by using underpainting, layering and burnishing techniques. Working from photos, you will complete a realistic painting of a subject of your choosing—flowers, fruits, glass, metal and more. You can choose to work on white, tinted or black paper. Select from photos provided by the instructor or bring your own. All levels are welcome. Class and individual instruction will be provided.
