This course introduces you to the basics of computing and provides extensive practice using the mouse and the keyboard. You are introduced to and use the WordPad and the Paint applications programs. This course is intended for those with minimum or no experience using a computer. A student Flash Drive is needed. Location: Media Room Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (6 classes) 125416 M/T/W/Th/F Jun 17–Jun 24 9:30-noon Computer Skills 2 for Windows 10 This course will teach you how to organize and manipulate all kinds of files and folders (documents, pictures, music, etc.) so that you can easily retrieve them. You will also gain an understanding of accounts and privilege in Windows 10. You can customize the look of the computer for each account user. We will also teach you the workings of Windows 10" Start Menu" and the new File Explorer. A student Flash Drive is needed. It's also designed to be intuitive for users of both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, incorporating the "best of both worlds" to enhance your experience and help you be more productive. This seminar will introduce you to the basic look and feel of the Windows 10 operating system and provide an overview of new and enhanced features. This class is designed for users familiar with Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Location: Classroom 302 Fees: $5(R) $6(N) 125412 Tue July 16 9:30 a.m.-noon Exploring Windows 10 This course explores the features of Windows 10 and how it differs from previous versions of Windows. The course covers more details than "What's New In Windows 10" and allows you to try Windows 10 features in a hands-on lab environment. You will learn how to customize the Windows 10 Desktop, Start Menu, and Task Bar, and how to tailor the appearance and behavior of Windows 10 to suit your needs. Since this is an intermediate level course, students are expected to have a basic working knowledge of some version of Windows. A Flash Drive is optional for this class. They meet on the second Saturday of each month at 1:30p.m. in classroom 302. Sign-in is required. All information must be stored on your own flash drive as the computer will not save your information (no printer available).
