Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 19 Education BEGINNER/RECREATIONAL GUITAR 50+ NEW! Learn the basics of the guitar like tuning, basic chords and strumming rhythms to be able to play familiar songs while singing along. The guitar is a completely accessible instrument at any level and this course will help the beginner gain the skills and confidence in a fun low pressure instructional group setting. Playing in ensemble with others will not only help cement the skills in place, it is also fun to play in a group. Students need to bring guitar and music stand. Learn how to play a musical instrument under the tutelage of an experienced instructor. Seniors actively involved in music making show a decrease in anxiety, loneliness, and depression. CONTINUING FIDDLE More great fiddle lessons for budding fiddlers! During this class you will learn a little of everything; tunes, technique, and music theory with an emphasis on Celtic tunes. You will need a violin and bow in good condition and should be able to play the A, D and G scales in good tune. This is a fun class where you learn to play well with others.
