Each focus on a different aspect of life in India. All workshops are free, but pre- registration is required. All programs take place at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center unless otherwise noted. SPICES OF INDIA Surrender your senses to the rare and exotic spices of India. Learn how India's unique geography has shaped her regional cuisine and the role of spices play in it. Indian silks and muslins were once the talk of the world. Traditional dances are a treat to watch and are rooted in ancient scriptures. Learn about the origins and evolution of these musical and dance traditions. 128505 Mon Oct 7 6–8 p.m. Cary Diwali Festival Saturday, October 12 | 10 a.m.–9 p.m. | Free Koka Booth Amphitheatre Celebrate Diwali at Koka Booth with sumptuous Indian food, adrenaline-pumping entertainment, and a rich marketplace experience. The theme of the 19th annual Cary Diwali is Sur Sahitya, the confluence of art, music, and literature. Enjoy class acts from the Triangle's best- loved schools of music and dance, a headline performer from India, and the popular university dance competition.
