PARKS PART THREE 152 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Kay Struffolino Park 601 Kildaire Farm Road, 27511 This community gathering space is within walking distance of The Cary Arts Center and the Downtown area. The amenities include a walkway providing ADA compliant access into the park and a small terrace with benches matching those in the Downtown Park. In 2013, the Town moved "Meeting Place," the large clay fire sculpture originally cast and fired on the Downtown Park property in 2012, to the park's lawn to serve as the park's central feature. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: Public art, terrace, benches Lexie Lane Park 301 N. Dixon Avenue, 27513 Located just outside the heart of Downtown Cary, Lexie Lane Park provides recreational and sports league fun for all ages with ball fields and a basketball court as well as a playground with mulch ground cover. Hours: Sunrise to sunset; in lighted areas where visitors are participating in an approved extended use activity, hours are extended until 30 minutes after the completion of the activity or 11 p.m. Features: Baseball/softball field, basketball slab, playground, and restrooms. Lions Park 815 Tanglewood Drive, 27511 Lions Park is home to many youth and athletic leagues, including baseball and softball. Catch a game on the bleachers and root for your favorite athlete! Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: Two baseball/softball fields, picnic tables, and restrooms. MacDonald Woods Park 1601 Seabrook Avenue, 27511 Whether you are in the mood for a little basketball or just want a nice shaded play to open play, MacDonald Woods Park fits the bill. The Hinshaw Greenway bisects the eastern side of the park and connects to the US Hwy 1/64 pedestrian bridge that leads to the Kids Together Playground at Marla Dorrel Park. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: Trail access to Hinshaw Greenway, basketball slab, an open-play field, playground, restroom facility, and picnic tables. Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve 2616 Kildaire Farm Road, 27518 A visit to Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve is sure to captivate and delight. Whether you are an avid birdwatcher or simply seeking solitude outdoors, Hemlock Bluffs offers a variety of outdoor opportunities. The Stevens Nature Center at Hemlock Bluffs provides interactive, educational nature exhibits and historical exhibits from the Piedmont of North Carolina. The nature center also provides nature education programs for all ages throughout the year. Stevens Nature Center Hours: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday- Saturday, 1–5 p.m. Sunday. Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve Hours: 9 a.m.–sunset Features: Eastern Hemlock trees and other mountain plant species, access to approximately three miles of mulched nature trails, scenic overlooks, excellent bird and wildlife watching opportunities, and areas for quiet nature reflection. Jack Smith Park 9725 Penny Road, Raleigh, 27606 The 50-acre tract, formerly the Bartley family farm, is on the south side of Penny Road near Holly Springs Road. Located in southeastern Cary, the outstanding natural and manmade features of the park site present an opportunity to create a unique facility in the Town's recreational offerings. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: Playground, sprayground, dog park, climbing rock, greenway trails, public art, restrooms, and picnic shelters. JACK SMITH PARK
