And, for more December holiday activities, check out the events listed under "December" in this section. Letters to Santa: Santa's Mailbox November 18–December 9 Town Hall We've made special arrangements for Downtown Park to be a drop-off site for letters to Santa Claus! Little ones enjoy this annual tradition as we prepare for Santa's flight over Cary. Drop off letters in the Santa Mailbox in Downtown Park before December 9 and your child will hear back from our jolly friend in red! Remember to include your child's name and return address on each letter. Santa's Workshop Saturday, December 7 | 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Age 10 & Under with Caregiver Herbert C. Young Community Center Children can enjoy a variety of craft stations and enjoy a visit with the white bearded guy from the North Pole! While at Santa's Workshop, you can support the Cary Teen Council's food drive by sending each child with two nonperishable food items or a cash donation for admission. All proceeds will be donated to charity. There will be a 20-minute break at 11:30 a.m. so Santa can feed his reindeer. 9th Annual Gingerbread House Competition Saturday, December 7 Downtown Cary Create a gingerbread house yummy enough for an elf's visit! The houses will be on display in Downtown Cary on December 7. Winning houses will be on display during the month of December at the Cary Arts Center. Entry forms are due by November 26; completed gingerbread houses due on December 6. 8th Annual Gifting Tree Project Downtown Cary You are invited to participate in a Christmas tree decorating contest with a charitable twist! Represent your family, organization, workplace, or school by decorating a tree. As the streets of Downtown Cary fill with lighted trees, the public is invited to vote for their favorite. The winning tree will have a donation made to the non-profit group of their choice. Registration forms are due by November 25. Victorian Christmas at the Page-Walker Saturday, December 7 | 3–6 p.m. | Free Page-Walker Arts & History Center Step into the past and get in the holiday spirit with old- fashioned Christmas fun! The 1868 hotel will be decked out in holiday finery and host the public for hot cider & cookies, traditional music, and everyone's favorite, the carriage rides. Kids will enjoy making a craft and the chance to meet Father Christmas! Town of Cary Christmas Tree Lighting Saturday, December 7 | 6 p.m. | Free Town Hall Campus Welcome in the holiday season with the official Christmas Tree Lighting for the Town of Cary. This festive night features actors, singers, and musicians from the community. We'll also unveil the Cary Community Christmas Tree inside Town Hall. Over 130 community groups provide handcrafted ornaments to be displayed on the inside tree- a true representation of the diversity of Cary. Heart of the Holidays g % HOLIDAY TREASURES
