VISUAL ARTS PART TWO 58 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Metals & Jewelry Open Studio Orientation: Metals & Jewelry (age 15 & up) This workshop is intended for those with previous metals and jewelry experience not acquired through the Town of Cary wishing to fulfill the prerequisite for advanced-level courses and to use the Metals & Jewelry studio. Includes: orientation to the studio, metals equipment, studio safety, and procedures. All participants must pass written, basic, metals and jewelry skills test in order to be issued an Open Studio Membership Pass. Silver soldering, sawing, forging, finishing, and surface embellishments are just some of the techniques covered. Supplies can be purchased at the Cary Arts Center. Successful completion of this class satisfies your eligibility for an Open Studio pass. Learn to select, cut and assemble glass, transfer patterns, fit pieces, wrap, and solder. The cost of glass is based upon project size and can be purchased locally.
