Through collage techniques, you will experience a truly unique way of approaching your art, whether creating representational or non-representational works. This class is open to all artist levels. Use beautiful Japanese or marbled papers and silk bookcloth to cover the sides. Finish with vintage costume jewelry beads for a fun topknot pull. Intricate and complex details can be created in wax that you can't achieve in metal fabrication. Cast at least one of your pieces in metal (sterling silver) and learn how to bring the cast piece to a desired finish. Create cabochons in variations of shapes for use in jewelry designs. Setting the stones will also be covered. Tools are provided for use. Metals and stones are available for purchase through the Cary Arts Center.
