18 Fall 2019 Cary Senior Center Computer Learning INTRODUCTION TO ICLOUD What is iCloud? It is Apple's cloud storage service for securely syncing and storing many kinds of data and documents among multiple devices, including your iPad, iPhone, iPod and your PCs running macOS or Windows. Consider iCloud to be a highly capable personal Internet hard drive. You will be shown how to set up an account and make the best use of the service. Either the "iOS: Basics" or "Getting to Know Your iPhone" class is a prerequisite. Bring your iPad and/or iPhone, along with your Apple ID and password Fees: $5(R) $6(N) (1 class) 128513 Tue Oct 1 1:30–4 p.m. INTRODUCTION TO MAC Apple's Macintosh computers provide an excellent alternative for home computer users because of their ease of use and enhanced security. In the three classes, you will learn: 1) the basics of the Macintosh operating system, including the file management system, the menus and the preferences, 2) using the included applications and 3) buying apps from the online Mac App Store, and other trusted sources and the best ways to purchase a Mac. You will be provided with the course slides to reference later. Bring your Mac laptop if you have one. Fees: $15(R) $20(N) (3 classes) 128516 Mon/Tue/Thu Dec 16-19 1:30–4 p.m. c Public Computer CSC offers a public computer in the library for seniors (age 50+) to use. Sign-in is required. All information must be stored on your own flash drive as the computer will not save your information (no printer available). Wireless access is also a service of the Senior Tech Ed Learning Center. c Granpaparazzi Photo Club Are you an amateur photographer on a quest for photographic exellence? This friendly group offeres opportunities to share photography experiences and knowledge. Each month you'll explore different activities including day-trip photo shoots, Photoshop techniques, image critiques, and Gear news and discussions. 4th Thursday 1:30-3:30 p.m. c Cary Senior Technology Classes Our computer classes are designed by, and for, senior adults. All instructors are senior volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering with the computer program, call (919) 469-4081. To take any of the classes, you must be 50 or older. Scholarships are available for class fees; call (919) 469-4081 for more information. All students are required to bring a 1GB (or larger) thumb drive (flash drive) to class or you can purchase one at the front desk for $10 each. c Library Cary Senior Center maintains a library of books, movies, magazines, books on cassette and on CD, music CDs, and more—all for you to borrow! You may check out three items for up to 10 days. Check out this growing resource for area seniors! If you have books, CDs or DVDs you no longer use, consider donating them to Cary Senior Center!
