24 Fall 2019 Cary Senior Center COMPUTER SKILLS 3—GOOGLE, GMAIL & BEYOND This class is for those who have mastered basic computer skills 1 & 2 (or have equivalent experience). We will discuss searching the internet with search engines such as Google and Bing. Did you know that Google has Calendars, Maps, YouTube videos and more? We will explore the many features of Google. Finally we will teach you how to set up a Google account and use Gmail. We will discuss basic MS Office applications including: Word (word processing), Power Point (slide show presentations), and Excel (basic spreadsheets). A flash drive is required for this class. Location: Media Room Fees: $15(R) $20(N) (3 classes) 128530 Tue/Thu Nov 19–Nov 26 1:30–4 p.m. 128535 Mon/Tue/Wed Dec 9–Dec 11 1:30–4 p.m. Computer Learning COMPUTER SKILLS 4B INTRODUCTION TO LIBRE OFFICE Libre Office, available for free on the internet, is an excellent replacement for Microsoft Office. This full featured Office suite includes all of the standard office components including word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentations and more. This class is for those who have mastered Computer Skills 1 and 2 (or have equivalent experience). Although the class is taught using Windows 10, versions are available for Mac and Linux platforms, users of these systems will also benefit. Flash drive is required. It's also designed to be intuitive for users of both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, incorporating the "best of both worlds" to enhance your experience and help you be more productive. This seminar will introduce you to the basic look and feel of the Windows 10 operating system, provide an overview of new and enhanced features and offer you information to upgrade your Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 OS to Windows 10.
