(age 16 & up) FREE Taught by a NC State Extension volunteer, this class focuses on basic energy concepts, the energy management pyramid, and simple inexpensive ways to save energy at home. Free LED bulbs for all attendees. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Suchi Gupti 127870 Sat Nov 9 10:30 a.m.–noon Dog Obedience Classes (age 16 & up) Learn the importance of your role as leader and teach your dog self-control. Learn how to teach your dog to sit down, come, stay, and walk on a loose leash without pulling, resulting in improved behavior in public as well as home. This course is for dogs 3.5 months and older. In addition, we work on getting their attention WITHOUT food in your hands! By adding distractions and practicing commands off leash, your dog will improve self-control and make your public outings more fun. Learn how to play a musical instrument under the tutelage of an experienced instructor. Seniors actively involved in music making show a decrease in anxiety, loneliness, and depression. CONTINUING FIDDLE More great fiddle lessons for budding fiddlers! During this class you will learn a little of everything; tunes, technique, and music theory with an emphasis on Celtic tunes. You will need a violin and bow in good condition and should be able to play the A, D and G scales in good tune. This is a fun class where you learn to play well with others. In the first class we discuss how to buy an inexpensive ukulele. Playing the ukulele, besides being fun, helps develop use of hand and finger muscles to improve dexterity and to exercise your brain. You will learn a variety of simple songs on your ukulele in this class to expand your musical horizons.
