Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 59 Volunteer Opportunities Fall Volunteer List Are you interested in giving back to your community? Volunteer with the Senior Center today! By registering for this program, you will be added to a volunteer call list for the 2019 Fall Season. When different volunteer opportunities arise we then contact those on the list for help. Remember this list only lasts for one season so make sure you register each brochure if you want to remain on the call list. 127336 Volunteer Call List Holiday Volunteer Opportunities Get in the holiday spirit by volunteering to help others! Location: Ballroom SANTA PROJECT Calling all Santa's elves! The Town of Cary is in dire need of several kind hearted elves to do some of Santa's work. Right after Thanksgiving, children will be dropping off their letter to Santa at Town Hall. Santa has given us permission to help return letters to the good little children of Cary—but we need your help! Join us for this special project by signing up for an orientation meeting. 127341 Tue Dec 3 1:30–2:30 p.m. c Senior Volunteer Opportunities STOCKING STUFFING PARTY Calling all volunteers, we need you and your holiday spirit to help with the 4th Annual Stockings of Joy Project. Join us as we stuff all our collected donations into stockings hand decorated by other seniors in the community. This program benefits local community elders in need of a little extra joy during the holiday season. We have partnered with Homewatch CareGivers and many Wake County Businesses to spread the Joy of the Holiday. Baskets of Joy are also made for our local Jewish family services. Stocking recipients will be people served by Wake County Adult Protective Services, The Center for Volunteer Caregiving, Meals on Wheels, Transitions LifeCare, Heartland Hospice, Duke Hospice and UNC Hospice. Location: Ballroom 126818 Wed Dec 4 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Volunteer Stitchers Volunteers sew, knit and crochet a variety of dolls, quilts, and other goodies to be donated to local hospitals and care centers! More volunteers are always welcome, please join us in giving. Donations of clean acrylic yarns, cotton cloth and other items are needed.
