All proceeds will be donated to a local charity. Nazim Hikmet Poetry Festival Sunday, March 29 | 1–7 p.m. | Free Page-Walker Arts & History Center Celebrate poetry at this annual festival with poets, scholars, and lovers of poetry! Meet the winners of the annual Nazim Hikmet Poetry Contest, listen to poetry readings and keynote speakers, and enjoy a reception and hangout with poets from around the world. Presented by American-Turkish Association of North Carolina. April 42nd Annual Cary Road Race Saturday, April 4 | 8:30–11 a.m. | $25 Pre-registration; $35 Race Day Registration; Fun Run is Free Downtown Park/Town Square Join us for this family-friendly event that includes a 5K run, a 5-mile run, and a Fun Run. The course is a challenging route over rolling city streets that starts and finishes in downtown Cary. Children's Day Festival Saturday, April 18 | 11 a.m.–5 p.m. | Free Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park The Children's Day Festival of Cary focuses on the importance of the next generation, our children, with the intent of helping them develop an appreciation for the colorful mosaic of cultures in our area. Enjoy performances by more than 200 local children, food trucks, games, crafts, face-painting, community services and businesses, and international food tasting. Presented by American- Turkish Association of Cary, Cary Sister Cities, and Town of Cary. Downtown Chowdown Sunday, April 19 | 12:30–5 p.m. | Free Downtown Park/Town Square Enjoy a full afternoon along Academy Street for the first Downtown Chowdown of 2020! Taste some of the best food in the triangle, enjoy a cool beverage from craft beer and wine vendors, and relax to music from local performers. Magical Egg Glow Hunt Friday, April 3 | 7–9:45 p.m. | Age 3–12 | $5 Middle Creek Community Center Hunting for Easter Eggs in the dark? Yes! The Easter Bunny has gone a little crazy this year and is hiding the eggs at night! No worries, he's added some magic to the eggs to make them glow! Before the glowing egg hunt join us for games, photos with the bunny, and more! Parent must accompany each child. Easter Egg Hunts Tuesday, April 7 | 6–7 p.m. | Free Town of Cary Parks Join your friends, neighbors, and the Easter Bunny as you search for eggs at a park near you! Three separate egg hunts will be hosted throughout Cary. The locations will be announced via social media at @EnjoyCary on Instagram, @TOC_Fun on Twitter, and Town of Cary on Facebook on April 7.
