PARKS PART THREE REGISTER ONLINE: mycary.org 173 Mills Park School Park 425 Mills Park Drive, 27519 With a focus on athletic fields, Mills Park School Park is located on the campuses of Mills Park Middle and Elementary schools in West Cary. It is a collaborative effort between the Wake County School System and the Town of Cary. Hours: Limited to 5:30 p.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m.–11 p.m. Saturday & Sunday Features: Lighted artificial turf multipurpose field, lighted natural grass multipurpose/track stadium field, an open-play area, lighted youth softball field, picnic shelter with restrooms, and a lighted basketball slab. New Hope Church Road Trailhead Park 2575 New Hope Church Road, 27519 Situated in northwestern Cary and adjacent to the American Tobacco Trail (ATT), the 12-acre site is the only trailhead along the ATT that was built and is maintained by the Town. It serves as an important parking facility for Cary residents and users of the ATT and it is also one of the few locations in Wake and Chatham counties along the 22-mile ATT that offers drinking water and restroom facilities. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: 100-space parking lot, parking for horse trailers, picnic shelters, restrooms, public art, and an open space lawn. North Cary Park 1100 Norwell Blvd, 27513 One of the favorite parks in town, North Cary Park features a multitude of activities, including a unique climbing boulder, sand volleyball courts, athletic fields and courts, and a playground for youth. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: Soccer field, two basketball slabs, four sand volleyball courts, playground, picnic shelter, picnic tables, restrooms, climbing boulders, and trails. Old Reedy Creek Road Trailhead 2139 Old Reedy Creek Road This trailhead is the starting point for the Town's 7.0-mile Black Creek Greenway and an access point for the East Coast Greenway. These trails connect westward to White Oak Creek Greenway, and the American Tobacco Trail and eastward through Raleigh then southwards along the Neuse River. The trailhead provides access to scenic Lake Crabtree overlooks, Wake County's mountain bike trails linking to Lake Crabtree County Park, and hiking and biking trails within the 5,000-acre Umstead State Park. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: 82 parking spaces, restrooms, trail connections, picnic tables, grill, shelter, bike fix-it station, drinking water and pet dish, kiosk with maps c Cary Dog Parks Godbold Park, 2050 N.W. Maynard Road Jack Smith Park, 9725 Penny Road Open daily 7 a.m.–10 p.m. The Town of Cary Dog Parks provide a place for dog owners to let their pets run safely without a leash. Features include separate, lighted areas for small and large dogs; wood chip ground cover; benches; water stations; pet cleanup areas; and a five-foot- high fence with screening and an electronic entrance gate. REQUIREMENTS FOR PARK USE 1. An annual or day pass (includes access to both parks) • Annual pass for single dog: $40 for residents; $80 for nonresidents • Annual pass multiple dogs: $60 for residents; $120 for nonresidents • Day pass: $5 for residents; $10 for nonresidents 2. A registration form and waiver. Forms must be completed and signed by the dog owner. A vet's proof of neuter/spay and/or micro- chipping and proof of rabies vaccinations are required.
