Young Community Center Through Friday, January 24 Medium: Watercolor & Acrylic Paintings Fascinated by Georges Braque's painting, Man With a Guitar, this collection paintings represents the journey taken by the artist during her exploration of Cubism and the Artists of that genre. Copying several of the Cubists' images provided a glimpse into the machinations of composing other paintings for this show. Cary Photographic Artists Members Cary Arts Center Gallery Through Sunday, January 26 Medium: Photography The Cary Photographic Artists formed in January 2007 as Cary's only organization dedicated to the enhancement of photography in the fine arts. With a goal of education and the sharing of photographic technology, this club has over 140 members dedicated to promoting all levels of photographic knowledge through art. Victoria T. Powers: Chairs, Stairs & Barriers Town Hall Gallery Through Friday, January 24 Medium: Photography Powers is a multimedia artist who has exhibited professionally since 1989, and has worked primarily in painting, fiber arts, mixed media, and photography. Her black-and-white 35mm film series, "Stairs, Chairs, & Barriers," features 31 photographs taken on Baldhead Island, NC, and her three years to complete. January Fine Arts League of Cary Annual Members' Show Page-Walker Arts & History Center Through Saturday, January 4 Medium: Various Celebrate the visual arts in Cary at FALC's Annual Member showcase. Over 75 different artists' works, representing a range of styles, techniques and media are on display. Bob Reuss: Wood Turnings Page-Walker Arts & History Center Through Saturday, January 4 Medium: Wood Reuss shares pieces made primarily on the lathe using native American woods primarily sourced in North Carolina. Platters, bowls, boxes, hollow forms, and pieces retaining a bark rim or "natural edge" will be on display. Some pieces incorporate decorative embellishments such as texturing, pyrography, and inlays. 40 Years of Cary Greenways Cary Arts Center Principal's Hall Through Sunday, January 19 Medium: Photography The Town of Cary is celebrating 40 Years of Cary Greenways! And, as a part of the celebration, the Town held a photography competition showcasing Cary's unique network of greenways. Area photographers submitted their best photographs of Cary's Greenways.
