Children will be taught how to ride their bicycle in a safely on a concrete surface in Bond Park. AGE 4–7 Sat Mar 21 10–11 a.m. 002235 AGE 8–11 Sat Mar 21 11-noon 002236 Location: Bond Park Boathouse Instructor: Cary PD Fees: Free (1 class) Intro to Atlatl (age 10 & up) In this hands-on class, learn to throw spears using an atlatl. Class is outdoors. All equipment is provided. Tue Mar 24 5:30–7 p.m. 001383 Location: Bond Park Kiwanis Shelter Instructor: REI Fees: $20(R) $26(N) (1 class) Family Navigation (age 8 & up w/caregiver) This hands-on course is a great introduction to outdoor navigation and map reading! During this field outing, learn to read a map, along with the proper use of your compass. Learn about magnetic north, true north, and magnetic variation (declination). Put your skills together! Take a bearing from the terrain and your map to understand your position and, then, plan a route. Fee is for parent and child.
