The classes feature a system which includes small class size, hands-on experience (each student works at a computer), trained teachers, and on-site coaches providing additional assistance. All instructors are senior volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering with the computer program, call (919) 469-4081. To take any of the classes, you must be 50 or older. Scholarships are available for class fees; call (919) 469-4081 for more information. All students are required to bring a 1GB (or larger) thumb drive (flash drive) to class or you can purchase one at the front desk for $10 each. We will also let you know how to Mon Jan 6 1:30–3:30 p.m. 001490 (1 class) Apple Computers (age 50 & up) Location: Classroom 302 IOS BASIC: INTRODUCTION TO IPAD AND IPHONE This course will focus on mobile devices from Apple to illustrate their capabilities and underlying concepts. In this course you will be shown how to set up these devices and be provided with a brief overview of the many applications (apps) available including the Find My iPhone app. Bring your iPad and/or iPhone as well as your Apple ID and password. Tue Jan 14 1:30–4 p.m. 001520 Fees: $5(R) $6(N) (1 class) GETTING TO KNOW YOUR IPHONE This course will teach you how to get the most out of your Apple iPhone, including basic set up, making phone calls, and more advanced telephone features such as "Do Not Disturb" and, importantly, how to use the Find My iPhone app. Bring your iPhone along as well as your Apple ID and password. Learn how to search and download some of it from the App Store, the iTunes Store, and the iBooks store as well as how to check out ebooks from the Wake County Public Library.
