Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 17 Computer Learning INTRODUCTION TO MAC Apple's Macintosh computers provide an excellent alternative for home computer users because of their ease of use and enhanced security. In the three classes, you will learn: 1) the basics of the Macintosh operating system, including the file management system, the menus and the preferences, 2) using the included applications and 3) buying apps from the online Mac App Store, and other trusted sources and the best ways to purchase a Mac. You will be provided with the course slides for you later reference. Bring your Mac laptop if you have one. M, W, F Apr 27–May 1 1:30–4 p.m. 001519 Fees: $15(R) $20(N) (3 classes) TAKING, EDITING AND SHARING YOUR IPHONE/IPAD PHOTOS Over 80% of all photos are taken on mobile devices. Most of those photos are still on the device that was used to take them. This workshop will discuss the best way to take, edit and share those digital photos on your iPhone/ iPhone. Either "iOS Basic" or "Getting to Know Your iPhone" class is a prerequisite. Bring your iPad/iPhone and learn how to take, edit and share great photos. Tue,Thu Mar 3–5 1:30–4 p.m. 001524 Fees: $10(R) $15(N) (2 classes) INTRODUCTION TO ICLOUD What is iCloud? It is a service from Apple for securely syncing and storing many kinds of data and documents among multiple devices, including your iPad, iPhone, iPod and PCs running Mac OS or Windows. Consider iCloud to be a highly capable personal Internet hard drive. You will be shown how to set up an account and make the best use of the service. Either "iOS Basic" or "Getting to Know Your iPhone" class is a prerequisite. Bring your iPad and/or iPhone along with your Apple ID and password. Tue Mar 10 1:30–4 p.m. 001518 Fees: $5(R) $6(N) (1 class) MAKE A MOVIE WITH YOUR IPHONE/ IPAD Would you like to make a short movie of yourself reading a bedtime story for your grandchildren? Or create a personal memoir including still photography, video, voice-over and background music? With the camera on your iPhone or iPad, and the free iMovie app, you already have the tools you need. This class may not make you Steven Spielberg, but it should get your creative juices flowing, and who knows, perhaps make you a YouTube star! Either "iOS Basic" or "Getting to Know Your iPhone" class is a prerequisite. If the iMovie app is not already on your device, download it through the App Store before coming to class. They meet on the second Saturday of each month at 1:30p.m. in classroom 302. Meetings include a presentation by members or outside speakers on computer-related topics of general interest.
