Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 27 Education A TASTE OF ASIAN CUISINE We will explore utilizing the wok in creating chicken lettuce wraps; lo mein with assorted vegetables and pork, and shrimp and broccoli with sweet chili sauce. Join us for this tasty class Tue May 5 10–12:30 a.m. 002139 Seafood with Indian Flair This hands-on class will expose participants to prepare sea-food with aromatic Indian spices and ensuring it is a healthy way to have delicious sea food. Three dishes will be prepared with distinctly different taste and flavors. Participants will enjoy these dishes with basmati rice and a yogurt side dish. Session will also include an overview of spices used in Indian cooking and get recipes for the three dishes. A seafood chowder with homemade croutons will sure to be a hit! Seafood ingredients will be determined as to what looks good at the market on shopping day. Hoping for a good selection of local ingredients! Tue Jan 7 10–12:30 a.m. 002134 COOKING FOR ONE! If you are new to cooking or just looking for a way to be more efficient in cooking small portions, you do not want to miss this class! We will explore ways in cooking for one creating nutritious delicious meals; shopping for one; and other helpful hints. During class we will prepare a few dishes, and have recipes to take home! Tue Feb 4 10–12:30 a.m. 002135 ONCE UPON A TART Try your hand at making dough from scratch to cradle the fillings of your tart. We will also explore using puff pastry as a base. Three tarts will be constructed one with lemon, one custard, and one fruit tart. Tue Mar 3 10–12:30 a.m. 002137 FARRO, LENTILS AND BULGUR...OH MY! Shrimp, beef, and poultry will be added in creating three delicious entrees using these items. You will be surprised how creative you can be and how quickly you can create a meal for yourself, friends, and family. Tue Apr 7 10–12:30 a.m. 002138 Spice up your taste buds!
