44 Winter/Spring 2020 Cary Senior Center Ballroom Dance (age 18 & up) We offer group classes for every level, from newcomers through advanced students. Group classes are a great way to learn to dance inexpensively, have fun and socialize with a variety of partners! Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Franca Luzzi Fees: $88(R) $114(N) BEGINNER BALLROOM SMOOTH Thought you had two left feet or new to dance but want to learn the slower classics: Waltz, Foxtrot and Tango? This is the class for you to learn all three dances. Each dance will have 2 full classes dedicated to it. Get comfortable learning to lead/follow and the proper technique for each dance. Fri Jan 17–Feb 21 7:15–8:30 p.m. 001633 (6 classes) BEGINNER BALLROOM RHYTHM If you like faster music then you need to try the classic Rhythm dances of East Coast Swing, Cha Cha and Rumba. Each dance will have 2 full classes dedicated to it. Get comfortable learning to lead and follow with proper technique. Fri Feb 28–Apr 3 7:15–8:30 p.m. 001634 (6 classes) c Your Best Shot Calling all amateur and professional senior photographers! Submit your photo to be the next cover of the Cary Senior Center brochure! If your photo is chosen, you will be a featured on the back of the brochure. To be eligible your photo must show active aging through an activity provided by the Town of Cary, brief description of the activity that is being captured in the photo, people in the photo must be 55 and older, and we need contact information and photo needs to be 300 dpi and in either jpg or tif format. All photos and information will need to be submitted digitally to Stefanie Nichols, through either email stefanie.nichols@ townofcary.org or CD. c Say CHEESE! Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department photographs program participants to use in publications. We can't be everywhere to take pictures. Fitness & Wellness Absolute Beginner Ballet @ BPCC (age 18 & up) It's never too late for adults to learn ballet. Designed for brand-new dancers, this workshop teaches fundamental positions, vocabulary, and basic principles of ballet. It's a fun way to tone and tighten your body and work on posture. Repeat students are welcome too!
