The South Cary WRF, constructed in 1988, has a biosolids dryer that produces
pelletized fertilizer called "enviro gems." Located on West Lake Road, the
facility serves residents and businesses in southern Cary and discharges
exceptionally-treated water into Middle Creek, a tributary of the Neuse River.
