Joanna Sokolowska: Paint the Intangible Emotion Herbert C. Young Community Center April 26–July 14 Medium: Mixed Media on Canvas This body of work is inspired by the human being and its complexity. Joanna Sokolowska found inspiration and a focus portraying the sensual and spiritual side of humans. Mary Wassil: N.C. Beaches & Mountains Town Hall Gallery April 26–July 14 Medium: Oil Paintings Mary Wassil is heavily inspired by the impressionist movement in her abstract landscape painting. She uses a palette knife to apply thick, vibrant colors, giving her work boldness and texture. May Cely Chicurel: Clay Creations Page-Walker Arts & History Center May 17–July 1 Meet the Artists: May 26 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Ceramics Cely Chicurel shares her playful, hand-built clay creations, including animals, castles, dragons, wizards, tree people, and other imaginary creatures.
