60 REGISTER ONLINE: mycary.org Cary Heritage Museum Located on the third oor of the Page-Walker Art & History Center, the Cary Heritage Museum is the place to experience Cary's metamorphosis from a humble railroad village to a high-tech hub. Meet Cary's founding family, see downtown in the 1890s, and learn about the town's namesake, a Union General, through photographs, oral histories, artifacts, and a scale model of town. See the development of the Cary community from one square mile at its incorporation in 1871 to nearly 60 square miles in three counties today. A timeline, updated in 2021 to celebrate Cary's sesquicentennial, highlights signi cant events in local history and relates them to the events of the larger world. Bring your group to the Page-Walker Arts & History Center for a tour that is great for scouts, students, seniors, newcomers, and other community groups. Call (919) 460- 4963 for more information. A complete restoration in the 1990s converted the building into an arts and history center. Alive with classes, events, performances, receptions, and meetings, the Page- Walker boasts ne arts galleries featuring local and regional artists, the Anne Kratzer Educational Herb Garden, the Page smokehouse, a Certi ed Monarch Waystation, and the Cary Heritage Museum.
