OUTDOOR RECREATION PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: mycary.org 67 Bond Park Boat Rentals Boats may be rented from the Bond Park Boathouse. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied on the boat by an adult and wear a personal otation device (PFD). All participants renting sailboats, canoes, or kayaks must wear a PFD at all times. Prior experience is required for sailboat rentals. For hours of operation and fees, visit townofcary.org/ boathouse. Tips for Boating on Bond Lake • Outdoor Recreation programs run sprinkle or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather. • You may get wet while boating at Bond Park. A dry change of clothes is recommended. • Intentional capsizing is part of some of the classes, so plan on getting wet. • Wear footwear, such as old sneakers, that you can wade in and won't come off your feet (i.e. no ip- ops). • Wear clothing made of synthetic material. It will dry much faster than cotton and is less likely to chill you if wet. • Consider bringing/wearing a windbreaker in the spring and fall. • Bring sunscreen, sunglasses with strap, broad brim hat or cap, and a water bottle. • Leave valuables such as keys, wallets, cell phones, and other electronics at home or in a safe place. Do not bring them on the boat or they may end up in the lake. Day-use locker rentals available in the Boathouse restrooms. • No pets permitted on the boats. KAYAKING ON BOND LAKE Outdoor Recreation Bond Park Adventures (age 8—17) Join us Wednesday mornings for interactive outdoor education sessions. Activities include archery, nature, axe throwing, re building, shelters, adventure course, Giant Swing, orienteering, team building, and more. Takes place at Bond Park.
