Green Festival Facts STONELEAF + FAIRYCIRCLE Section The StoneLeaf + FairyCircle was originally commissioned for the 2012 Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival. This art piece is a working bioswale that treats water runoff from the large parking lot before it enters the pond. Bioswales are channels designed to concentrate and convey stormwater runoff while removing debris and pollution. They can also be beneficial in recharging groundwater and consist of a swaled drainage course with gently-sloped sides. JELLYFISH IN THE SKY Between sections & With the help of teachers and students at Green Level High School and Duke University, artist Bryant Holsenbeck has built an installation for Spring Daze that shows plastic debris from our waterways repurposed into jellyfish floating overhead. Stop by during the festival and talk with the students about the plastics issues, and about this project. SPECIAL ACTIVITIES 2 G F A
