Page 44 CARY Benefits Handbook Additional Programs and Benefits L VACATION SELL BACK PROGRAM A regular employee may elect to sell back up to 80 hours per fiscal year of earned, but unused vacation hours. • Employees must have completed their initial employment probationary period • Employees must have at least 80 hours of remaining vacation leave after sell back. • The maximum payout is prorated for employees with an approved part-time schedule. • An employee must complete and submit a Vacation Leave Sell Back form. • Payments may take up to two full pay periods to be processed via direct deposit. EMPLOYEE COMPUTER PURCHASE PROGRAM Benefit eligible employees who have been with Cary for six months may be eligible to participate in the Employee Computer Loan Program. Through the program you may receive an interest- free loan to purchase personal computer equipment and software. Employees who participate in the program will make loan payments through payroll deduction. Requests to participate in this program can be found on CNET. The amount available as a loan, is set by the Schedule of Current Values Standard Procedure and managed by the Finance Department. GOCARY/GOPASS A GoPass allows Cary employees to ride GoCary, GoTriangle, GoRaleigh and GoDurham buses for free. A 529 plan allows you to set aside funds for higher education expenses such as tuition, room and board, books, computers and equipment, supplies and more. Accounts can be set up for anyone, even yourself, and the funds set aside in this account can be used at any eligible college or university, anywhere in the country.
