Other Voluntary Insurance Benefits CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE Critical Illness Insurance (includes cancer coverage) offered through UNUM can be invaluable when you encounter a critical illness and experience unexpected medical expenses. Employees choose to purchase $10,000 or $20,000 in coverage and can elect $5,000 or $10,000 on a spouse/domestic partner. The insurance will pay for a recurring condition so long as there is a 12-month lapse between occurrences of the same condition.
