Arts & Crafts Painting with Wax Paint Your Pets in Watercolors! Encaustic painting was developed by the ancient Greek shipbuilders, who used hot wax to fill the cracks in their ships. Soon color was added and this led to painting on the surface of the waxed hull: an art form was born. Learn how to paint using the cool wax technique. This process allows you to paint with oil colors that dry quickly, like acrylics, but allow for reworking & manipulation. During this unique experience you will also receive some basic painting instructions. An additional $10 supply cost is due to the instructor at the beginning of class, the only supplies you will need to bring is something to paint on. No $10 fee for returning painters. Bring a favorite photo of your cats, dogs, birds, etc. and learn techniques to paint eyes, fur, realism and loose watercolors.
