The Cary Teen Council is a volunteer service organization made up of fun and facinating teens ranging from 6th-12th grade from various schools throughout the area! The Teen Council was founded in 1989 and has been serving the Town of Cary and surrounding areas ever since! In May, the Teen Council was honored with a number of awards at the annual State Youth Convention held at Shell Island Resort in Wilmington. Awards included Most Outstanding Council, Most Diverse Council, Project of the Year Award and the National Jefferson Project Award. The mission of the Council is to empower teens with the core values of leadership, accountability, and a heart for service. The Council accomplishes these goals by providing volunteer opportunities, leadership opportunities, establishing high standards for behavior, and promoting teens to effectively communicate while managing their time and volunteer profiles. Membership is open in June of each year for rising 6th-11th grade students. Teens give their time volunteering!
