The center features a fully function- ing theatre, 8 multi-purpose programming rooms, dedicated gallery space, large multi-room clay studio, and performance production labs. The center is home to the town's Marvelous Music Series and Applause! Cary Youth Theatre and provides programming space for the town's extensive visual and craft arts programs. The center pro - vides a public rental program that includes the theatre and select rooms and spaces in the facility. The site features almost 3 miles of trails, and includes a system of north-facing bluffs along Swift Creek, which support a population of Eastern Hemlock trees and other vegetation unusual to this area. The Nature Preserve is listed on the State Registry of Natural Heritage Areas. The Stevens Nature Center is a 3,700 square foot facility comprised of an exhibit hall, a classroom for program activities, restrooms, and office space. Exhibits are designed to explain the uniqueness and natural history of the area to the visitor, as well as to educate citizens about the en - vironment. Bond metro Park & BoatHouSe 801 High House Road (919) 469-4100 Bond Park, a 310-acre facility, is one of the larger municipal parks in Wake County. All facilities are integrated into a natural setting sur- rounded by trees. The park offers a 42-acre lake for fishing and boat- ing, as well as picnic shelters, athletic fields, an amphitheatre, trails, a large playground and the Challenge 'Ropes' Course. Park Hours: Year Round Gates are open by 7:30 a.m. and close at dusk. Please observe the posted closing times at the gates. Sk8-Cary 2040 N.W. Maynard Road (919) 380-2970 Located within Godbold Park, Sk8-Cary is a lighted 12,000 square foot street-style course designed for skateboard, inline skates and BMX bikes. The facility is open year-round, weather permitting, with different sessions for bikers and skaters. Hours: Vary per season, please see the Sk8-Cary page in this brochure or call for more information • Town of Cary residents receive special discounted rates (listed above). Nonresidents may rent at 1.5 times the resident fee. • Cary-based cultural organizations receive discounts on room and theatre rates. For more information on these rates, please call (919) 462-3969. • Room reservations are accepted from Cary residents no more than three months in advance, non-residents two months in advance for rentals Sun-Thur. • Room reservations are accepted from Cary residents no more than six months in advance, non-residents five months in advance for rentals Fri and Sat. • Theatre reservations will be accepted from all residents June 1 for rentals that will occur September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015. There is a two-hour minimum rental for non-theatre rooms and a five-hour minimum rental for the theatre. • An additional $25 per hour is charged for rentals out- side normal operating hours (noted above).
