Arts & Crafts 4 June–August 2014 Cary Senior Center Arts & Crafts Classes take place in classroom 306 un- less otherwise stated. An Introduction to the Art of Calligraphy From traditional to ornate hand lettering styles, practice and have fun learning new calligraphy fonts while learning to use the tools of calligraphy: India ink, dip pen and variety of pen nibs. Design and apply new lettering styles to note cards, personalized bookmarks and other station - ary projects. The use of materials is included in the $5 supply fee due to the instructor at the begin- ning of the first class. Focus will be on the essential elements of drawing, including contour lines, value, texture, composition and per - spective, while exploring the use of a variety of dry media. Bring a 9x12 sketchbook and let's begin to draw! Emphasis is on total enjoyment with one-on-one instruction. Instructor: Bobbi Hopp Fees: $44(R) $57(N) (6 classes) 77403 Jun 4-Jul 9 10 a.m.-noon 77404 Jul 23-Aug 27 10 a.m.-noon Pencil Drawing A relaxed approach to doing pencil drawing from life and photos that emphases perspectives. One point, two point and multiple points will be taught. Shading techniques that eliminate lines will com- pliment these three dimension drawings. Supplies are no longer included with this class, see supply list when registering.
