After nearly 50 years e Town of Cary has given life back to the beloved
downtown theatre. e renovation project is set to reopen the town's
first indoor movie theater in March. e 7,000-square-foot downtown
building, at 122 E. Chatham St., has been home to a clothing store, auto
parts shop and recording studio since e Cary theater closed in the late
1950s. e theatre once hosted live performances as well as films. Once
complete, the facility will be used as a flexible performance space. It will
serve as additional theatre space and a specialty movie venue, including
showing the Cary Youth Video project. It may also be used to showcase
music performances, present stand-up comedy, and more!
