SPECIAL EVENTS (919) 469-4061 www.townofcary.org 9 The Really Terrible Orchestra of the Triangle (RTOOT) Celebrates the Joys of the Season Cary Arts Center Tuesday, December 9 | 7:30 p.m. | $9 It is hard to imagine any organization seeking joy more en- thusiastically than The Really Terrible Orchestra of the Triangle (RTOOT). The RTOOT is composed of approximately sixty mu- sicians all of whom practice diligently and make every effort to play wonderful music with as much skill and accomplishment as possible in combination with unexpected humor. The General Assembly Chorus Presents Songs of the Season Cary Arts Center Thursday, December 11 | 7:30 p.m. Tickets: TBD The General Assembly chorus is a group of men who love to sing barbershop harmony. They are the Research Triangle Park chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chapter in- cludes a 40 man chorus, a number of talented quartets and many supporters. The chorus and quartets sing a cappella mu- sic in the barbershop style. They perform twice a year. They also perform for school groups, for booked special shows, sing the National Anthem at sporting events and sing competitively in the Barbershop Harmony Society. For more, http://www.generalassemblychorus.org/events Cary Town Band presents "Winterfest" Cary Senior Center Friday, December 12 | 7:30 p.m. | Free In July there's Summerfest, and in December, there's "Winterfest"– time for the band to join with the Cary Senior Center in our sixth annual musical celebration of the holiday season. For the past few years we've had a carol sing-along that was quite popular, so we'll be doing it again this year. (Be sure to cast your vote for your favorite carols.) Triangle Wind Ensemble presents "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" Cary Arts Center Friday, December 12 | 7:30 p.m. | $15 Adults; $5 Students and Children 12 & Under TWE's annual winter concert includes both traditional and up- to-date music to brighten spirits and warm hearts during the holi- day season. Expect majestic brass music, selections from holiday movies, beloved favorites and a lot of good cheer from this vir- tuoso ensemble of Triangle-area musicians, under the direction of Evan Feldman.
