That usually means there's a whole lot of rain, but for us it means there's a whole lot of mu- sic about cats and dogs–enough for an entire concert. Music for li- ons and tigers and "The Waltzing Cat!" Oh my! There's a one-step called "Me-Ow", a circus gallop for lions in The "Big Cage", and a rag about tigers. Music for hounds like Alfred Reed's "The Hounds of Spring" and a "Bird Dog". Come join with us as we musically celebrate these household pets and their cousins in the wild. www.carytownband.org Kim Wempe Saturday, September 20 | 2 p.m. | Free A powerful performer with smoky vocals and an undeniable stage presence, Kim Wempe has been tearing up highways and stomp- ing her way across every stage in the country for the past four years. On the heels of her 2010 East Coast Music Association (ECMA) win and a 2011 ECMA nomination, her new album "Coalition" is a big, bold, unapologetic leap into a whole new sound—roots-tinged pop/ blues influenced by Americana storytelling and gospel melodies. http://kimwempe.com Triangle Brass Band Sunday, October 5 | 3 p.m. | Free If you have not experienced us, come try us out! Join the Triangle Brass Band for "Pops in the Park!" The area's premier adult British- style brass band will perform audience-pleasing selections of march- es, musicals, light classical music, and traditional brass band tunes. Not to be missed! www.trianglebrass.org Brass at Bond Sunday, October 12 | 1 p.m. | Free Join us as we celebrate the rich, pure sounds of brass instruments.
