From movie night snacks to sushi, you will find something to get your taste buds going! Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Wynton Mann Fees: $28(R) $36(N) (1 class) Movie Night Before going to the movies you make up the classic theater snacks like soft pretzels with warm mustard, homemade popcorn, chocolate mint patties and peanut butter balls, nachos and root beer floats. 78908 Thu Sep 4 4:30-6 p.m. Knife Skills A great place to start for teens getting their first experience in the kitchen, our knife skills class teaches young people how to handle a knife safely and confidently, while giving them the chance to learn about and practice different cuts (chop, slice, dice, mince, julienne). 78905 Thu Sep 25 4:30-6 p.m. 78906 Thu Dec 18 4:30-6 p.m. Who's a Chocoholic? Join Chef Wynton and learn about the different types of chocolate, how they taste, look and are used. Each student will make a chocolate lava cake, be enchanted with a decadent chocolate mousse and much more. 78907 Thu Oct 2 4:30-6 p.m. Hello Little Sushi Come and learn the art of making futomaki (large rolls), hosomaki (small rolls), uramaki (inside-out rolls) and temaki, hand rolls. We'll show you how to make the omelets, the rice, dashi and all the other tricks to have your own sushi party at home. We'll also show you the art of tempura. 78910 Thu Nov 20 4:30-6 p.m. Ragu Made Right This class will focus on the basics of making the perfect meat sauce to accompany your favorite pasta from scratch. Teens will also make home- made garlic knots and more. 78928 Thu Dec 4 4:30-6 p.m. Gourmet Cooking (age 11-17) This class is for serious gourmands who are beyond cooking kiddie foods! Take advantage of flavorful fresh ingredients while you prepare: pomegranate glazed chicken; herb roasted potatoes; maple glazed roasted carrots; creamy butternut squash bisque; sweet pumpkin fritters; mixed green salad with shaved parmesan and a champagne vinai- grette; and finish with madeleine cookies.
