With a goal of education and the sharing of photographic technology, this club has over 100 members dedicated to promoting all levels of photographic knowledge through art. To learn more about Cary Photographic Artists events and programs visit www. caryphotographicartists.org Don Hamilton: Abstracts in Color Principal's Hall Cary Arts Center Through Saturday, January 24 Artist's Reception: Friday, December 12 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Acrylic paintings This selection of abstract paintings by Hamilton reflects his influences from the great master's of abstract art: Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline, Alexander Calder, and Richard Deibenkorn. "These influences combined with emotion and passion, give me the drive to create." Don Hamilton teaches acrylic and watercolor classes in Cary and continues to grow as an artist through his engagement with students and contemporary teachers. Jessica Chang: A Warm Interlude in the Florida Keys Town Hall Gallery Through Friday, January 23 Medium: Oil paintings This series consists of seascape and landscape oil paintings that capture the beautiful Florida Keys. The vibrant color and energy of each painting allows the artist to relive a joyful and memorable vacation with her family! Artcetria: Raymond LaMantia Cary Senior Center Medium: Oil on Canvas Monday, January 12–Friday, February 20 Artist Reception: Friday, January 30 | 6–8 p.m. "I work in a hyper-realistic style with tendencies toward surrealism. Appealing to the sight, stirring to the soul, these are my goals, what more does art hold. Currently from Siler City, NC, Raymond LaMantia has exhibited across the Eastern part of the USA since 1975. Highlights of Monet's Gardens & Duke Gardens: Michael Weitzman Herb Young Community Center gallery Through January 26 Artist Reception: Saturday, December 6 | 2–4 p.m. Medium: Photography Beautiful images of Monet's Gardens in Giverny, France and Durham's Duke Gardens in springtime will be featured by photographer Michael Weitzman of Cary and upstate New York. A wide variety of landscape and nature images round out this exhibit that emphasizes the beauty that surrounds us all.
