SPORTS REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 101 PART TWO Pitching 101 for Youth Baseball (age 8–10) This program will work on the development of proper pitching technique and mechanics. Instructors will teach the fundamentals on how to throw the baseball with more accuracy and proper mechanics. This clinic is designed for both new pitchers and young pitchers that would like to continue developing their mechanics. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $20(R) $26(N) (1 class) 83464 Thu Mar 5 6–7 p.m. 83465 Sat Mar 21 9–10 a.m. Town of Cary Spring Training Clinic (age 8–12) 14th Annual Town of Cary Spring Clinic is for ages 8-12 and will focus on the basic fundamentals of the game. Instructors will include Town of Cary Instructors and Dowling College players and coaches. Participants will rotate through a series of hitting, throwing and defensive drills. Pre-Registration is required as this clinic is capped at 100 participants. Registration ends March 11. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Instructors and Dowling College Baseball Team Fees: $10 (1 class) 83658 Sat Mar 14 9–11 a.m. USA Baseball Preseason Skills Series (age 8–13) This Series will include 6 hours of instruction over a series of 2 days, and will focus on the game's fundamental skill sets. USA Baseball Staff and Town of Cary Baseball Instructors will be working together to bring you the best possible clinic focusing on pitching, hitting, defense, athleticism and evaluation. All participants will receive a USA Baseball cap. Pre-Registration is required, as the class is limited to 40 participants. Registration ends Wed, Feb 11. Along with hosting many college teams, tournaments, showcases and high school teams, the National Training Complex is also home to USA Baseball. USA Baseball is the national governing body of Baseball. The USA Baseball NTC is also home to the Town of Cary's Instructional Baseball programs. Listed below are the program offerings for the Winter/Spring season. For more information on programs or the National Training Complex please call, (919) 387-5844. Basics of Throwing (age 5–7) One of the most important aspects of baseball is being able to throw properly. Players of all ages need to work on throwing every day. This program will teach how to properly throw the baseball in order to throw more accurately and with more strength. Proper throwing mechanics also reduce the chance of injury to the throwing arm. Parents are encouraged to participate. Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $10(R) $13(N) (1 class) Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex 83441 Sat Mar 7 1–2 p.m. 83442 Sat Mar 7 2:30–3:30 p.m. Youth Baseball Hitting Clinic (age 5–7) This clinic is designed to teach up and coming players proper hitting techniques and helps current players with techniques to sharpen their skills during the season. Parents are encouraged to participate. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $27(R) $35(N) (1 class) 83444 Sun Mar 8 1–2:30 p.m. 83445 Sat Mar 21 10–11:30 a.m. Youth Baseball Fielding Clinic (age 5–7) This clinic is designed to teach up and coming players proper fielding techniques and helps current players with techniques to sharpen their skills during the season.
