Students explore and construct their own roller coasters, catapults, cars, and more . Students explore foundational concepts of industrial engineering such as: assembly lines, safety, stamping, sorting and distributing materials. Students see just how fun and creative industrial engineering can be as they create their own ice cream factory and 3-D copies of designs. They examine several different types of bridge designs and discover how the forces of tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structure. Get dirty and check out the Wiggly World of Worms. Learn about insects from eyesight to defenses in Bug Buddies. Star Gazing Saturday, February 21, 2015 | 7 p.m. North Cary Park Join members of the Raleigh Astronomy Club for a star gaze featuring Venus, Mars, the moon and other deep-sky targets. Club members will share their telescopes and knowledge of the night sky with the public.
