Balance and Muscle Toning Maintaining good balance is the foundation for an active lifestyle, and it reduces the risk of falling. Having strong leg and core muscles will assist us in staying balanced, and in regaining balance should we start to fall. In this class we will focus on strengthening the muscles in the legs, core and upper body, by working with dumbbells, resistance bands, and a small ball. Specific balance exercises will also be included. Groove to the music from the 1960s and 1970s in this 50-minute class while you focus on strength, endurance, balance and coordination. A 20 minute low impact aerobic workout is followed by strength training with resistance bands and a small ball. A brief balance segment is also included. We will do no jumping, and no floor or mat work. The strengthening exercises can be modified according to your ability. Athletic shoes required. Includes adaptable chair exercises for all abilities. Senior Tennis Appreciation Day Wednesday, May 6 Cary Tennis Park Cary Tennis Park and Western Wake Tennis Association will host a Senior Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 6, 9 a.m. to noon.
