Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources page 17 Sports Baseball USA Baseball Preseason Skills Series (age 11–13) This Series includes 6 hours of instruction over 2 days, and will focus on the game's fundamental skill sets. USA Baseball Staff and Town of Cary Baseball Instructors will be working together to bring you the best possible clinic focusing on pitching, hitting, defense, athleticism and evaluation. All participants will receive a USA Baseball cap. Pre-Registration is required, as the class is limited to 40 participants. Registration ends Wed, Feb 11. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: USA Baseball Staff & Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $65(R) $85(N) (2 classes) 83457 Sat Feb 14–21 1–4 p.m. Keys to Hitting and Fielding (age 13–15) In this two day 3 hour clinic, participants will focus on the keys to hitting and fielding. During the keys to hitting players will learn about batting stance, hand positioning, and transition through the swing. In the keys to fielding players will learn the proper positioning for fielding ground balls, learn proper arm angles when throwing. The keys learned at the clinic will be able to be applied directly on the field. Drills are designed to work on footwork, positioning and making accurate throws. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 83468 Mon Mar 16 6:30–8 p.m. Catcher's Skills Clinic (age 13-15) This clinic will work on skills for developing your game behind the plate. Drills will be introduced to help developing your blocking, framing pitches and throw downs to bases. This clinic will work on skills for fielding ground balls, throwing to cutoff man, judging fly balls, correct path to the ball and how to get a quicker jump on balls hit to the outfield.
